the isle The Isle of Capall will be shaped by you. Aside from the beach, where all equines first appear on the isle, the island is up to your imagination. To start with, there will be 3 unknown lands on the island that are free to be discovered by you. To do so all you have to do is start a thread with one of your characters in which you describe the land and give it a name. This is a fantasy world, so get creative! Once you do so the board description and name will be updated based on your thread. Information on Capall will be updated as the isle is discovered.

the horses On Capall equines can come in any colour and with the addition of wings, horns, antlers, or whatever else you can come up with. So long as the basic build is still that of a horse. Pony to draft size horses are all welcome, and if you prefer your horse in natural colours rather than fantasy, that's okay too! Aging is also still normal on the Isle of Capall, and horses won't live forever. The must age yearly during the season of their birth.
horse creation On Capall horses can have all sorts of fantastical features, unnatural colours, horns, wings, etc. Feel free to be creative when making your characters.
The base of your character must still be recognizably a horse. At this time we don't accept donkeys, zebras, or any other species, even if similar to horses.
Horses on Capall are also still realistic sizes, any sizes between 7hh to 20hh are acceptable.
The maximum age of a horse on the Isle of Capall is 25 years. Horses can of course die before then if you so choose, but they must die when they reach their 25th year.
Because horses are showing up alone on the island with no familial or herd connections, created horses must be at least 2 years old. Foals can only be created when born from a breeding of two horses on the island. We want to make sure they have some family to take care of them.
When you're ready to make a character you can find the application here.

breeding Horses on Capall can try for a foal by filling out the form located here. Staff will then roll to see the outcome of the breeding and what the foal looks like.
The couple must be a mare and stallion that have completed at least 1 thread with at least 6 posts together.
Mares may only have one breeding a year, while stallions may have as many as you like. For example if a mare has completed a breeding in Spring of Year One, she cannot be bred again until at least Spring of Year Two.
Mares must be 4-20 years old to breed and stallions must be at least 3 years old.
Foals are born the season after the breeding takes place. If no one has claimed the foal and completed an application for it in that time the foal will be stillborn.
In the time between the staff completing the foal information rolls and the next season when a birth thread is made, the mare will be pregnant in any threads she participates in.

fighting In the event that a fight is required to settle a dispute, such as leadership or claiming another herds land, we have a dice system built in here on Isle of Capall.
For a fight to take place a challenge must be issued in character that clearly outlines who you are challenging and what the results of the fight will determine (ie. who becomes the next leader, who gets the land, etc). There must be a thread with the two characters that are to be involved in the fight within which the challenging takes place. Basically, you can't fight someone you've never encountered in character before. You can also have fights between characters as practice if you would like. Horses under the age of 2 years cannot be challenged or participate in fights.
Once a challenge has been issued, a new in character thread in which the fight will take place must be started by the attacking horse and titled "Fight - Horse Name vs Horse Name". The thread will last for six posts, with each person posting three times.
The first poster attacks and uses the dice system built into the forum to roll a number between 1 and 10 at the end of their post. The next poster defends against the attack and then attacks the other horse. That person would roll a number for their defense and their attack. This goes back and forth for 6 posts and ends with the last poster only defending and rolling a number for their defense.
For each attack vs defense whoever rolls the higher number wins that interaction, and the person with the most total wins at the end of the fight wins the overall fight. Once the six posts have been completed for the fight, tag valitrix who will review the rolls and make a post verifying the winner.
In the event of a tie during one of the interactions neither horse will get a point towards winning. In the event of an overall tie whoever is defending against the challenger wins whatever the agreed upon prize was.
To keep things moving along, each participant will have 72 hours (3 days) to reply to the other before the fight is forfeited. In the case of a forfeit whoever was the last to post will win the fight.
In order to have some realism and keep the fights from being completely random chance, there are also modifiers that will be added to the rolls based on each horses age and experience. See below for age modifiers:
Age 2-4 -1
Age 5-10 No modifier
Age 10-15 +1
Age 15-20 No modifier
Age 20-25 -1
For each fight that a horse wins they can add +2 to their rolls. For every fight a horse loses they can add +1 to their rolls. If the fight is a tie both horses get a +1 modifier. The fights have to actually be completed for either horse to get the points. If a horse wins a fight because of a forfeit, that doesn't count towards their modifiers, and neither does losing a fight due to forfeit.
For example: A 12 year old horse that has won 2 fights and lost 1 fight can add +1 to their roll for their age and +5 for their experience for a total of +6, so if they rolled a 4 during a fight, it would be worth 10 instead.
Another example: A 3 year old horse that has lost 1 fight would have an age modifier of -1 and an experience modifier of +1, which would equal a 0, or no modifier. So, if they rolled a 4 during a fight it would just be worth 4.
It is important to keep track of the fights your characters have won or lost in your character tracker with links to the fights to keep track of what your character's fight modifier is. When you roll the dice during a fight make sure to also specify what you modifier is for that character beside the roll.
