I have a stallion, Astraeus, who is rather vain and full of himself. He'd like to be a herd leader for selfish prestige related reasons, basically he thinks it would make him look good to have a fancy title. He is however fairly averse to responsibility and is more concerned with having a good time, obviously not great leadership qualities. I have a couple ideas for how a herd with him as leader could work:
- Idea One: Basically a sort of bachelor stallion herd made up of other single stallions that have similar fun loving personalities and wouldn't be too concerned by a leader who prioritizes that over anything else. I imagine it would mostly be made up of younger, or more impressionable stallions that would be happy to follow Astraeus without asking to many questions.
- Idea Two: I could see Astraeus leading a more traditional herd if he was more of a figure head and had a deputy or assistant of sorts to take care of all the grunt work while he enjoys the more fun aspects of leadership, and of course the fancy title. Perhaps there might be a horse that is less charismatic that wants to be a leader but isn't as likable as Astraeus and would find it beneficial to use him as a sort of "face" for the leadership while they're actually in charge behind the scenes, or if there was a more impressionable horse that looked up to and wanted to impress Astraeus they might be convinced to take on the grunt work of leadership for him - at least to start.
Let me know if you have any interest in either herd/plot idea or a character that might fit one of them. If there's interest one way or the other I'm open to either idea, and other suggestions. For idea two I could see there being interesting potential plots of trying to take over from Astraeus. For idea one I think it would be a bit more light hearted and easy going, but I'm sure there'd be room for drama as well.
